COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

KNL engages their Host Communities by including in its workforce competent workmen available locally in order to promote peaceful coexistence, safety and general security. We also support group activities and causes that promote the general wellbeing of the communities in which we operate so to plough back some of the gains of our operations and gain their support.

At Kefode, we believe the protection of the environment is an important element of our corporate culture and that no project is so important that we cannot find a safe, healthy and environmentally sound way of executing it

SAFETY POLICY

At Kefode, we are committed to safety above everything else, and this commitment is central to everything we do. Our proactive approach creates value for our clients and safeguards our most important assets, our employees. Our team is dedicated to maintaining a safety focused and environmentally sound business environment. We promote our safety culture through planning, implementing and evaluating safety practices on a daily basis. Our safety program is action oriented and proactive. Every team member from management down is involved in ensuring a zero incident work place. We employ daily pre-task planning sessions, on-going safety inspections, weekly safety meetings, safety seminars, special equipment training, safety manual reviews and email updates to assist in attaining our goal of zero incidents. All new employees are required to complete our New Hire Safety Orientation Program

COMMUNITY RELATIONS POLICY & STRATEGY

Kefode Nigeria Limited recognizes the importance of safe working environment which is an indispensable tool for the safety and security of lives and properties in the environment. On this note, the company is committed to maintaining cordial relationship with the communities where it operates. It is therefore, the policy of Kefode Nigeria Limited to contribute towards improving socio-economic activities of the communities where the company is carrying on its business activities. This include among others:

•  Hiring of local Labor to stimulate the economy of the local community
through established bodies in the community.
•  Hold meeting(s) with the CLIENT Community liaison Officer (CLO) well in advance of commencement of work.
•  Maintain good relations with the public Communities
•  Observe all protocols/customs in the community
•  Pay due homage as may be required to Village Heads or Chiefs
•  To ensure that Zero Community disturbance/disruptions of operations are maintained at all times
•  Compliance with client’s recommendations on community negotiations and assistance
•  Company Public Relations Officer (PRO) to attend all our client’s community affairs/environmental awareness seminar and symposia
•  Show high senses of commitment
